In response to the severe flooding over the weekend, Shelter has set up a temporary emergency helpline number offering expert housing advice to anyone affected– on 0344 515 2370.
Shelter’s director of services Alison Mohammed said: “Our dedicated emergency helpline number will give anyone who is in crisis because of the recent flooding somewhere to turn for expert housing advice.
“This line will be open for the next two weeks to support those caught up in the disaster, offering advice on any financial help or assistance with repairs which might be available.
“We’d urge anyone affected by the flooding to call 0344 515 2370 at local rates for a priority service, or contact our free national helpline service on 0808 800 4444 which will be open as usual for anyone fighting bad housing and homelessness this Christmas.”
